Phylogica’s technologies, Phylomer® libraries and Blocker Trap have been designed to accelerate the discovery of drugs that are more patient friendly and have fewer side effects than existing alternatives.

Phylomers® are naturally stable protein segments which have the ability to bind tightly to target proteins and inactivate them as a result.

Phylomer® Libraries consist of a collection of millions of Phylomers®, which can be screened for potential drug candidates.

The Phylomer® libraries represent the inherent diversity within all of the classes of natural protein scaffolds, in contrast to antibodies, which represent the structural diversity compatible with one particular scaffold class. Many of these compact Phylomer® structures are derived from thermophiles and have therefore been selected through evolution for high thermal stability.

Phylomers® offer competitive advantages as therapeutic agents over antibodies. Phylomer® Libraries have many inherent qualities that make them a far superior source of drug leads in comparison to random peptide and other peptide libraries dervied from biological genomes.

Phylogica’s proprietary Blocker Trap is the yeast-2-hybrid based tool that the Company uses to select the best Phylomer/s® from its collection to block the disease causing protein and create new therapies.

The Phylomer® Libraries and Blocker Trap can be used with other systems or in combination to provide a powerful drug discovery tool.
